Kryon® HFO 1234yf was developed at Honeywell Fluorochemicals' Buffalo Research Center (USA) and replaces HFC R134a in automotive air conditioning. Its thermodynamic characteristics make it extremely similar to R134a, in terms of performance, energy efficiency, and operating pressures. By using HFO 1234yf, auto manufacturers have been able to easily adapt systems operating with R134a, achieving similar and, in some cases, better results.
