Particularly suitable for detecting leaks in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Maintenance of refrigeration and/or air conditioning systems involves the solution of a series of problems that require the use of chemical products, developed in such a way as to resolve the problem itself in the best way and with the best guarantees of success of the treatment performed.
The issues of certain primary interest are:
Cleaning and disinfection of evaporators
Cleaning the condensers
Treatment of exchange surfaces
Leak Detection

Each of these issues required careful analysis of the chemical processes involved; particular attention was paid to the prevention of easily triggered corrosion processes given that the equipment in question is built by coupling different metals (aluminium, copper, carbon steel) and making them work in humid and highly oxygenated environments. These conditions are perfect for the onset and development of corrosive processes that, if not treated adequately, can lead to complete oxidation of the material (see aluminium fins of the exchangers) or to corrosion through the pipes (see copper or iron pipes of heat exchangers, evaporators and condensers, etc.). Our chemical know-how has allowed us to address and resolve these needs in the best possible way.

Disinfection of evaporators:
The cleaning treatment must include both a chemical attack on the oxides, a solubilization of the solid particulate matter and oils/fats, and a sanitizing treatment to eliminate any bacteria, molds and spores that may be present.
Particular attention must be paid to the treatment of the surfaces to be cleaned, preventing the formation of oxidation processes; these surfaces almost always work in the presence of condensed humidity and, therefore, in environments particularly suitable for the development of corrosion.

Cleaning condensers:
In air condensers, the problem may arise with oxidation of the surface of the aluminum fins, the presence of dust, smog and solid particles and the presence of oils, greases or sludge.
The cleaning treatment must therefore include both a chemical attack on the oxides and a solubilization of the solid particulate and any oils/fats present.

Anti-limescale treatment:
In the case of water condensers, the cleaning problem is simpler to solve, although sometimes more complex to carry out; it is almost always a question of limescale deposits on the internal surface of the tubes through which the cooling water passes.
The treatment must therefore include the use of aqueous solutions that have the capacity to solubilise the deposited limestone.

Leak Detection:
The search for leaks has always been a primary requirement in the maintenance of refrigeration systems; with the advent of HFCs this requirement has become even more acute, given the high fugacity of these gases.
In fact, the following problems have arisen with HFCs:
impossibility of using flame systems due to the absence of chlorine;
need to use electronic leak detectors-sniffers;
HFC molecules, considerably smaller and more fleeting, are permeable to conventional bubble or foam leak detectors used in other systems (hydrocarbons, methane, etc.)
